From designing patient-centered ‘Plan of Care’ to user-centered digital solutions…
Rivers don't flow in straight lines, yet they never doubt their destination. What looks like wandering to the observer is actually the most strategic path forward—each bend building momentum for the journey ahead…
Since 2020, I've been leading user-centered design and research activities in B2B enterprise SaaS product development, bringing a unique perspective that bridges healthcare expertise with technology innovation.
My background as a Doctor of Physical Therapy taught me to observe human behavior, diagnose problems through systematic analysis, and design interventions that improve lives—skills that translate directly to exceptional UX design. Working with patients using brain-machine interfaces to improve levels of independence and activity in survivors of spinal cord and stroke/traumatic brain injury showed me how the intersection of human performance and technology can transform lives at scale. This is ultimately what inspired my pivot into UX design.
As a designer, my process is strategically informed through my experience and expertise in clinical care practice, instructional education, coaching, and business operations. Here’s a high-level summary of how these clinical skills transfer to UX Product Development:
User Research [patient interviews & clinical assessment]
Ideation and Concept Testing [Plan of Care design]
Socialize data insights and Stakeholder Management [measurable patient improvement & SOAP notes that win reimbursement]
Handoff/ Ship [Discharge Summary]
Recognizing the opportunity for aligning my healthcare expertise with the growing need for human-centered technology, I made the intentional decision to transition into UX design. After gaining practical UIUX product design experience at General Assembly, I earned an internship at AppDynamics, where I applied this unique skill combination to enterprise software design challenges.
My strategic, user-centered process allows me to identify chief user complaints, and resolve them through empirical research and design of intuitive end-to-end product experiences that simultaneously achieve key business metrics and goals. With the right balance of both analytical rigor and deep human empathy—I don't just design interfaces, I architect experiences that improve how people interact with technology.
